Akibino Sushi & Armando’s

Here are a couple of samples of  smaller signs. I love creating these pieces for the smaller stores. These signs usually range within the three square feet size and are quite often double sided. I’m happy to say I have  great success with these clients culminating some long lasting friendships.

The Cooper Clan Barrel

What a thrill it was to get a call from members of the “Cooper” clan. It was an honor to carve their crest into a barrel. This was one of the few full size barrel requests since most clients prefer to hang a barrel “end” on a wall or wine cellar door. However, this piece suited the project best by being full size and adorning the entranceway of their home.

Pacific Cuisine Inc.

This sign is one of the many small signs I  made for trade shows and advertising. You may notice the real forks in this piece which will help you envision the actual size of the sign.

Peak home builders

This sign was made for a client in Tokyo. The maple leaf is carved out of laminated red cedar to simulate house construction and attached to the circular “rising sun” backer also made from red cedar. The lettering was carved into the leaf.

Kambaseles

Here is an example of a barrel top with mainly script carved in. Yes, this was hand tediously carved and not routed. The beautiful spigot was a nice touch that really set off the design. This piece now lives happily in New York city.

On The Go, Gelato

IMG_3370

This recently finished sign was made for my friends at “On the go, Gelato”. They recently added a variety of amazing popcorn  awesome flavors to their menu. The gelato they sell is also out of this world and just in case you didn’t know….gelato is a major food group.

The popcorn pieces on the sign were carved from sign foam and the rest of the sign was made from different woods, hand crafted and laminated together.

Windsor Meat Company

WINDSOR MEAT COMPANY

This sign was done for my favorite butcher shop. Organic buffalo steaks sizzling on the grill….well, what can I say except WOW!
The lettering is mounted on a red leather background giving the sign a classy upscale look. The color also lends itself to the fine meat products they sell. Go to www.windsormeats.com for the full story on their fine products.

Bean Around The World

Bean around the world

As soon as I put these signs outside my shop for a quick picture I had company in the form a my cat. At least he works as a size reference for these two cedar signs which I later installed on the coffee shop wall.
